This is a very nice, very American
retelling of the story of The Hobbit (English purists, be
warned!) ... Henry recounts the story in 24 songs ...Excellent
guitar work, pleasant, easy rhythm, good accompaniment,
well miked, so you can really appreciate it ... "The Edge
Of The Wild" - escape from the Wargs - and "Through The
Mirkwood Forest" are two of my favorites ... Henry has a
good, unobtrusive turn of poetic phrase, too, which one
appreciates on repeated listening: "The journey is slow,
the river don't flow up to where the mountain lay. The Laketown
Men go south again. Dragon fear leads the way. With the
map of lore they find the door and with the key and the
setting sun, It opens wide. Lets the dark outside. The Burglar's
job's begun." This is one that improves with listening.
I recommend it.
