At
some point, all true fans of J.R.R. Tolkien have secretly
wished to find themselves in the common room of Barliman's
Prancing Pony in Bree or the Green Dragon at Bywater. There
we would raise a pint of Ale, listen to the gossip about the
queer goings on at Bag End and listen to crafted musicians
share epic tales through song. Thanks to Kevin Henry's new
CD "Bilbo's Great Adventure" we've never been closer
to the experience.
In this CD, Henry has woven together a musical backdrop to
Tolkien's classic tale, The Hobbit, which takes the listener
along on the adventure. The music thoughtfully mirrors a true
journey, expressing through style and instrumentation the
thoughts, moods and experiences of Bilbo and his companions.
Through the music, you venture off into new terrain along
with the characters and then return to familiar pathways as
you make your way towards "dragons and gold." A
wonderful mix of folk and blues (with an
occasional twinge of Southern rock) sweeps you away and purists
will appreciate how the lyrics remain true to the story.
"Bilbo's Great Adventure" is a must for all Tolkein
fans and it is a great way to introduce children to these
classic tales. Click as fast as your fingers will take you
to www.warmweathermusic.com to get a copy. Then sit
back, close your eyes, imagine yourself lifting a pint at
the Green Dragon and listen as Kevin Henry sends you off to
the Lonely Mountain with Bilbo once again.
